Having graduated at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest as a professional bassoon performer, after a couple-year long homeland experience I started to play in Austrian orchestras such as Wiener Akademie – now as principal bassonist – and the late Nicolaus Harnoncourt’s Concentus Musicus Wien – as contrabassonist („When I heard you playing, I realised there is an instrument called contrabasson” – N. H.).
During the past decades I performed in dozens of countries on various continents. This has not prevented me to manufacture bassoon reeds – with significant success, according to feedbacks – on the instruments I use: baroque, classical, classical contra, romantic, romantic contra and modern bassoons.
